President’s Letter

Dear Kepuhi Beach Resort Homeowners,

Over 40 years ago this month, Noreen and I first visited Molokai. We fell in love with its natural beauty and its residents. There was a new project being developed on the West End of the island called Kaluakoi Beach Resort. We made a deposit on our unit in building #24 which was under construction. Over forty years later, I am honored to serve as your newly elected president, following past president Dr. Ken King’s sale of his unit in April, and his subsequent resignation as president.

During the past 40 years our resort has seen many highs and lows.  However, Noreen and I still feel that our resort is the “Finest” in the Hawaiian Islands. The credit goes not only to our outstanding staff, but also to you, the homeowners who follow our CC&Rs. My goal is to keep Kepuhi Beach Resort a “resort” and not an “apartment complex.”

Our annual Homeowners meeting takes place on Saturday, November 11, 2017, and I am thinking of turning that evening’s Annual Homeowners Banquet into a luau with live entertainment at our pool area.  I would like to hear your input on this idea. The cost would be approximately $55 per person for homeowners and their guests.

The following are the dates for the November 2017 activities:

Thursday, November 9, 2017,  9 am, Annual Budget Meeting at Maunaloa Community Center

Thursday, November 9, 2017,  5 pm Potluck Dinner at Pool Area

Friday, November 10, 2017,  9 am, Fall Board Meeting at Maunaloa Community Center

Saturday, November 11, 2017,  9 am, Annual Homeowners Meeting at Maunaloa Community Center

Saturday, November 11, 2017,  5 pm, Luau at Pool Area

Sunday, November 12, 2017,  2 pm Arts and Craft Show on the lawn in front of Building 14

In  October , you will be receiving the packet of information pertaining to these meetings, along with proxies.  If you find you are unable to attend the annual meeting, it is vital you send in your proxy so that your AOAO can conduct business. We need your proxy.

I imagine there will be much discussion at the homeowners meeting regarding last week’s announcement that GL Limited (owners of Molokai Ranch) has listed for sale all their holdings on Molokai, which includes the hotel, lodge, and golf course.

I look forward to meeting new owners, and greeting continuing owners and old friends in November.
